Strength in Numbers
After six months of protests, the spirit of the Hong Kong people remains fiery as this past weekend saw masses gather on the streets in the first organized protest in a long time. Along with the police’s official approval, Hong Kong people responded in their numbers. Officials of the Civil Human Rights Front estimated over 800,000 people came out during the time they were observing. However, some estimate the total number ranged between 1 to 1.4 million marchers.

The protests remained peaceful as people marched on, some with their kids and family. CHRF called out to Carrie Lam to meet the five demands with this being their “last chance” to do so.

Despite months of blood, sweat and tears, Hong Kong people still stand strong with each other in their protection of their democratic rights. Their intentions have been clear, as they continue to seek the compromise from the government. Fallen on deaf years, the government may choose to ignore the people’s voices but the number of people chanting will only continue to grow.
