Won’t back down

Since the battle at CUHK between the police and the students, there have been more confrontations at other university campuses across Hong Kong. At the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, student protesters have been battling with the police on multiple bridges preventing their entry onto campus grounds. The clashes lasted all day Sunday and entered through the evening. Police were seen using many rounds of tear gas and firing rubber & foam bullets.

As the day went on the violence and brutality escalated when police beginning making mass arrests on anyone near the campus even arresting social workers and medics.

As the sun set, the Hong Kong Police issued a disturbing video threatening to begin using live ammunition weapons, because the student protesters are fighting back. They also attempted to charge at the barricades with police armoured vehicles but was met with resistance from the protesters.

The police were seen holding AR-15 automatic rifles at multiple locations surrounding the campus.

Live rounds were also fired when it was discovered that two police officers were hiding in an ambulance to arrest an injured student seeking medication. That drew the irate of other protesters in the area and to disperse the crowd, live rounds were shot.

Without anywhere to go, student protesters were trapped inside the campus as Police arresting anyone outside it, cutting off all support. Overnight the police suddenly stormed into the campus, catching the students by surprise forcing them to retreat inside the campus buildings.

After hours of battling, many students are exhaust or injured, requiring medical assistance.

More than 400 students are still trapped inside the university campus as they try to find their way out. Many are afraid the police will escalates its brutality and violence to force their way inside and making mass arrests. As of now the Hong Kong government refuses to back down and is convinced to use any means necessary to deter protesters.
