The ongoing protests have been a testament of the Hong Kong people’s will. It truly reveals a characteristic that all Hong Kong people will agree with, our resilience. Throughout the history of Hong Kong, its people endured peaks and valleys to arrive at its success. From the occupation by Japan, to the Golden era in the 80s and 90s, then back to the bottom in the Financial Crisis in 1997, followed by SARS in 2003. Time and time again, Hong Kong people persevered through all hardships. All of this history prepared us for today, Hong Kong people from all around the world uniting to seek a common cause, fighting to protect our rights, traditions, values and principles.
