Propaganda
As everyone knows propaganda is an extremely important tool of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to keep their citizens at bay. Editing videos to fit the narrative they like to portray of Hong Kong’s protesters is nothing new. However people on the internet have started seeing various ads on social media platforms such as Facebook or Youtube of the following:
It is wildly absurd to portray protesters as “looters” and “rioters” to begin with but now slapping a “terrorist” label seems to really stretching the truth. However the eyes of the CCP they will continue trying until something sticks.
Speaking of fake news, Executive Councillor Fanny Law was recently on a radio talk show discussing about a 14 year old girl being persuaded to offer free sex to front-line protesters. She claimed to learn of this through a daughter of a friend’s friend, and also claimed numerous teenagers have been persuaded to do the same, likening them to “comfort women.” If you know a little bit of WWII history, comfort women references to Imperial Japanese army forcing Chinese women they captured to satisfy their own troops. Carrie Lam was quick to distance herself from Fanny Law.
It is odd of someone to say they have “direct” knowledge then claims to have learn this through second-hand accounts. But it seems to be the common theme with those that support the CCP, keep lying until it comes the truth.
